AfPA State
Chapters

AfPA State Chapters provide members with engagement opportunities closer to home in their local community. While AfPA is active at the state level across the country, an on-ground team in California, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts and Texas allows AfPA to take a leading role in local advocacy. AfPA members can elevate the discussion with a broad range of stakeholders on access barriers and the importance of patient-centered care.

How chapters drive change

Local AfPA members promote patient-centered care and advocate for policies that:

Support the clinician-patient relationship. Better health outcomes occur when clinicians and patients – not health insurers – make treatment decisions.
Limit abusive insurance practices, which delay care and drive up costs.
Empower patients by acknowledging their individual needs and involving them in care decisions.
